2009-2010 Art Calendar

calendar

Too often, people living with mental illnesses face stigma that silences them.

To help pierce the silence and stigma that surround mental illness, Ozark Guidance developed an 18-month desk calendar featuring original artwork by adults living with mental illnesses. Many of these individuals are participants in one of our Adult Day Centers: Springhouse in Springdale; Club of the Ozarks in Eureka Springs; or ACT in Bentonville.

These are adults whose creativity has often been obscured by their illness, and often seen only behind the walls of mental health facilities. We believe that these works stand on their own as legitimate and valuable forms of human expression that contribute to the artistic dialogue within our community. We honor these artists, their works and the ways their challenges have shaped them.

Proceeds from the sale of these calendars will benefit the activity programs for the Adult Day Centers.
